Bac Giang: March consumption index decreases by 0.21%

According to data from the Department of Statistics of Bac Giang province, the consumer price index in March 2024 decreased by 0.21% compared to the previous month, increased by 1.18% compared to December last year and increased by 3.31% compared to the same period last year. The average consumer price index in 3 months of 2024 increased by 2.35% compared to the average of the same period.
 The consumer index in March 2024 decreases by 0.21% compared to the previous month.

Among the 11 main groups of goods and services, there were 05 groups with increased index compared to the previous month, being Housing, electricity, water, fuel and construction materials increasing by 0.46%; traffic increasing by 0.28%; post and telecommunications increasing by 0.14%; culture, entertainment and tourism increasing by 0.74%; other goods and services increasing by 0.10%.

There were 05/11 groups with decreased index including food and food services decreasing by 0.86%; beverages and tobacco decreasing by 0.60%; apparel, hats and shoes decreasing by 0.19%; household appliances and appliances decreasing by 0.62%; medicines and medical services decreasing by 0.05%. There was one index group being stable compared to the previous month: Education.

Most product groups had an increase/decrease in the consumer price index compared to the previous month, mainly due to adjustments in gasoline, oil prices, increased food and household electricity prices, leading to some product groups having an increase/decrease in the price index compared to the previous month.

It was forecasted that in April 2024, due to the impact of pandemics and natural disasters, it would continue to affect the market situation and transportation and service groups. Some petroleum and liquefied petroleum gas products (LPG), gold price and US dollar exchange rate would continue to fluctuate according to the impact of the world market. Prices of other products would increase due to the impact of gasoline and disruption of the global supply chain, greatly affecting the prices of other products./.
