According to the report of the Provincial People's Committee, in 2022, the weather is favorable, so the lychee tree will flower and bear fruit at the rate of 70-90%. The area of ​​lychee in the whole province maintains 28,300 hectares, the output is estimated at 180 thousand tons, down about 40,000 tons compared to 2021. In which, early ripening lychee is 6,750 hectares, the output is estimated at 60 thousand tons; The main lychee crop covers an area of ​​21,250 ha, the output is estimated at 120 thousand tons.

The area of ​​lychee production according to VietGAP standards is 15,200 ha, accounting for 54% of the total area of ​​the province, the output is estimated at 112,900 tons, accounting for 62.7% of the total lychee production; The production area for export to the US and Australian markets covers an area of ​​218 hectares, the output is estimated at 1 thousand tons; The lychee production area for the Japanese market covers an area of ​​269.45 hectares, with an estimated output of 1,800 tons.

Regarding the consumption market, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Phan The Tuan emphasized that Bac Giang province always attaches importance to all markets including domestic and export. Therefore, right from the beginning of the year, the Provincial People's Committee has soon issued a plan to promote lychee consumption so that branches and localities can take the initiative in production, trade promotion, and lychee consumption connection.

For the domestic market, from the very beginning of the lychee crop, it has been connected to the retail distribution system at large supermarkets such as: Megamart, GO!, Coopmart, wholesale fruit markets in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai, markets in the central provinces, the Central Highlands throughout the country.

For the export market, Bac Giang province continues to maintain exports of fresh lychees and processed lychees. The Chinese market is still identified as a traditional market with many years of cooperation. In addition to continuing to export to markets such as the United States, EU, Japan, Korea, Australia, Malaysia, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Singapore... Bac Giang also expands lychee export markets to the Middle East, Thailand, Canada...
