Bac Giang: Signing a Memorandum of Understanding on technology transfer of vegetable and fruit cultivation and preservation
On April 26, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le O Pich received and worked with leaders of a number of Japanese companies related to the field of ODA project funding, technology transfer of cultivation and preservation of vegetables and fruits. Attending the meeting were representatives of leaders of departments, branches and units in the province.
Speaking about the socio-economic development of the province, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le O Pich said that In recent years, the scale and economic potential of Bac Giang have improved markedly; The material and spiritual life of Bac Giang people is improved. Annual economic growth is always in the top provinces of the country; GRDP scale has risen to 15th out of 63 provinces and cities in the country. Especially in 2021, despite being affected by the Covid-19 epidemic, the province's budget revenue still increased above the 22 trillion VND mark.
In the first 3 months of 2022, Bac Giang has achieved many important socio-economic results. The fields of agricultural, forestry and fishery production all had good growth. From the perspective of building Bac Giang province to develop comprehensively and firmly; Provincial leaders focused on implementing well the orientation on economic development, synchronously in all 3 fields of industry - construction, urban - service and agriculture. In which, the province identifies agricultural production as the strength, the backbone of the economy. Currently, the province has more than 52 thousand hectares of fruit trees of all kinds, in which lychee is the main product, bringing high economic value, which has been exported to the Japanese market. In order to develop hi-tech agriculture, Bac Giang province is interested in applying science and technology, varieties and processes, putting VietGap and GlobalGap standards into production.
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le O Pich hoped that after the meeting with the available experience, the companies would cooperate and support Bac Giang for agricultural production with the highest quality and efficiency.

Talking at the meeting, representatives of Japanese companies said that with experience in preservation, Japanese enterprises will transfer technology, support capital to invest in technology to increase income for farmers, improve the quality of crop products, vegetables and fruits. At the same time, he wishes to receive support to implement the project “Growing lettuce and preserving technology during transportation” in Bac Giang province.
After agreeing on the contents, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le O Pich and representatives of leaders of departments, agencies and agencies witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between Tada Seika Co., Ltd., Netsudan Co., Ltd. Watec Co., Ltd., Ingerosec Co., Ltd. and Bac Giang Department of Agriculture and Rural Development.
This Memorandum of Understanding proposes financial support for the implementation of the Project “Growing lettuce and preserving technology during transportation” to the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) by administrative document. The stakeholders agreed to work closely together in preparing this project proposal and submitting the implementation plan for 2022 to JICA. In which, testing the effectiveness of products and techniques provided by Tada Seika, Netsudan, and Watec, transferring knowledge and technology related to lettuce products. The project implementation period is 1 year and 6 months, expected from December 2023.
