Bac Giang Provincial People's Committee has just issued a plan to implement the Strategy for Sustainable Agriculture and Rural Development in the period of 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050 in the province.
The plan sets forth a target that by 2030, the average GDP growth rate of agriculture, forestry and fishery will reach 2-3%/year. Expand and develop markets, especially export markets. The growth rate of export value of agricultural, forestry and fishery products reaches an average of 7-10%/year. The rate of production value applying high technology to agriculture reaches 50%, fishery reaches 55% and forestry reaches 30%; the value rate of agricultural and fishery products produced according to good manufacturing processes (GAP) or equivalent is over 80.0%; livestock farming, concentrated livestock areas account for 80%.
To increase people's income and reduce poverty sustainably. The income of rural residents is 2.5 - 3 times higher than that in 2020. The rate of multidimensionally poor households in rural areas decreases by 1-1.5%/year on average. The proportion of agricultural laborers in the total social labor decreased to 20%, the rate of trained agricultural workers reached over 70%. In the whole province, at least 95% of communes meet new rural standards, of which 50% of communes meet new enhanced rural standards; 8 district-level units met the new rural district standards, completing the task of building a new countryside. Develop green, environmentally friendly agriculture, adapt to climate change, reduce rural environmental pollution. The rate of forest cover remains stable at 37%, the forest area certified for sustainable forest management reaches 17,000 ha.
With a vision to 2050, Bac Giang will become one of the provinces with a national key agriculture, one of the top in the North Region. Modern, efficient and sustainable agricultural production; develop ecological, organic, circular, low-carbon, environmentally friendly agriculture and adapt to climate change. The countryside of the province will no longer has poor households and will be come a "worth-living", civilized, green, clean and beautiful place with living conditions, income of rural residents close to and closely connected, in harmony with urban areas.
Achieving the goal, Bac Giang province sets out orientations and tasks for sustainable agricultural and rural development, which is to develop agriculture in the direction of concentrated commodity production, closely linked with the processing tourism industry, consumption market, environmental protection, ecology, adaptation to climate change, synchronized with restructuring the agricultural sector and building new countryside. Promoting the application of high-tech agriculture, organic agriculture, and smart agriculture in the production of three key agricultural products. Bringing into play the advantages of each sub-region to further develop concentrated specialized cultivation areas.
