After nearly 1 month of collecting information, up to now, 2019 Population and Housing Census data has been completed and ready for data synthesis and analysis, one year earlier than the 10-year Census.

According to preliminary results of the Census, the population size has increased faster than the growth rate of 10 years ago, due to the strong development of industry in recent years, the number of laborers in other localities have increased. The total number of people in Bac Giang at 0:00 on April 1, 2019 is 1,803,950 people, of which the male population is 905,152 people (accounting for 50.17%), female is 898,798 people (accounting for 49.83%). . The population density of Bac Giang is 463 people / km2, the province with high population density while the population density of the whole country is 315 people / km2.

Educational level of the past 10 years has been improved. The percentage of the population aged 15 and older who can read and write increased sharply, reaching 98.7%; school-age children are attending school at 95.8%, while the national rate is about 91.7%.

Also in the past 10 years, housing conditions of households have improved markedly. 100% of the households have houses and mainly live in permanent and semi-permanent houses. While there are still 4,800 households without a home. However, there are still a significant number of households living in indecent design houses or houses with an average area of less than 6m2 / person. These are objects of interest in policies to improve housing and population in the future.

Speaking here, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Duong Van Thai acknowledged and praised the results in implementing the Population and Housing Census in 2019. The Vice Chairman confirmed that this is the largest-scale census. So far, with the participation of all levels, sectors and people. At the same time, it is the first census to apply information technology in all stages of the census.

The Vice Chairman highly appreciated the Statistical Office in advising and directing the Provincial People's Committee to implement the Census. The Steering Committees at all levels have actively developed implementation plans. Propaganda was effectively implemented, contributing to raising the awareness of all levels, sectors and people about the significance and role of the census. Thereby, Bac Giang was assessed by the Central Government to be the top of the Northern Midland and Mountain Region, 9th / 63 provinces and cities in implementing the Population and Housing Census in 2019, receiving the Emulation Flag of the Ministry of Planning. and Investment.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Duong Van Thai suggested that, after receiving official results of the Central Government, branches and localities will use effective statistical results to serve the planning of socio-economic development policies of the sector. , in our locality, to serve the political report of the Party Congress at all levels.
