Expanding legal aid beneficiaries under the Law on Legal Aid 2017

From January 1, 2018, the Law on Legal Aid (TGPL) 2017 officially takes effect. If the Law on Legal Aid in 2006 stipulates that only 06 beneficiaries are entitled to legal aid, the Law on Law on Legal Aid 2017 has expanded to 14 subjects stipulated in Article 7 of the Law.

First, the target group completely inherited in the Law on Legal Aid 2006 is the person who has made meritorious services to the revolution (clause 1) and who belongs to the poor household (clause 2).

Thus, for these groups, they must meet two conditions: Belonging to one of the above eight areas and having financial difficulties, namely, "those who are near poor or who are receiving monthly social allowances.
