The area of forest land in Bac Giang province is 146,435.4 hectares, of which special use forests area is 14093.3 hectares, accounting for 9.6%; protection forests 18879.9 hectares, accounting for 12.9%; 113,462.2 hectares of production forest, accounting for 77.5% of the total area of forest land. Forests in Bac Giang have extremely important role in the prevention of erosion and runoff, preventing flooding, flash flood and watershed protection functions to protect downstream areas of Northern Delta.
