Bac Giang is a province in northeastern of Vietnam. Years ago, for economic planning, Bac Giang in midland and northern mountainous region, from the year 2012, Bac Giang is located in the capital's regional planning.

Geographical location: Bac Giang province is located in the coordinates from 21 degrees 07 minutes to 21 degrees 37 minutes in north latitude; from 105 degrees 53 minutes to 107 degrees 02 minutes in east longitude. Bac Giang is a mountainous province, 50 km far from Hanoi in the north; 110 km far from international Huu Nghi Gate (Lang Sơn province) in the south; from Hai Phong port 100 km in the east. Bac Giang province bordered with Lang Son Province the north and northeast; bordered with Hanoi capital and Thai Nguyen province to the west and northwest; with Bac Ninh, Hai Duong and Quang Ninh province to the south and southeast.

Bac Giang has 09 districts and 01 city, including 06 mountainous districts and 01 upland one (Son Dong district); 230 communes, wards and towns (204 communes, 10 wards and 16 townships).

Topography: Bac Giang consists of two sub-regions: mountainous and midland with interspersed plains. Midlandinclude 02 districts and one city: Hiep Hoa, Viet Yen and Bac Giang city. Mountainous areas include 7 districts: Son Dong, Luc Nam, Luc Ngan, Yen The, Tan Yen, Yen Dung, Lang Giang. In which, a part of Luc Ngan, Luc Nam, Yen The and Son Dong province are high mountains.

Main characteristics of mountainous terrain (representing 72% of total area) is fragmented, complex, large differences in altitude. Many good land areas, especially in the area of natural forest remaining.

Low hills can plant more fruit trees and cash crops such as Litchi, oranges, lemons, tea, soy, peanuts ...; convenient for all kinds of animal husbandry, poultry and aquaculture.

Key characteristics of the midland terrain (accounting for 28% of the province) is soil hilly with interspersed plains depending on the area. Midland area can be growed more food crops, fruits, industrial crops; can be husbandried of cattle, poultry, fish and other aquatic resources. /.
