Favorable geographical location

Bac Giang Province is located in Northeast Vietnam, in geographical coordinates: From 21 ° 07 'to 21 ° 37' North latitude; From 105 ° 53 ’to 107 ° 02’ East longitude (meridian shaft 107 ° 00 ’). The center of the province is TP. Bac Giang, located about 50 km northeast of Hanoi. The whole province has 389,558.6 hectares of natural land, including 301,879.4 hectares of agricultural land, accounting for 77.49%; 80,128.6 hectares of non-agricultural land accounted for 20.57%; the remaining 7,550.6 hectares of unused land accounted for 1.94%. The land fund has many favorable conditions for the development of agriculture, forestry and fisheries, especially afforestation and fruit trees.

The whole province has 145,703.5 hectares of forested land, accounting for 37.4% of the total natural area, of which over 50% are production forests of high economic value. Natural forests also exist in Khe Ro and Tay Yen Tu conservation zones with more than 200 species of plants, many kinds of rich mixed trees and rare and precious forest animals being preserved. Forest coverage in the province is 37.4%.

In the province, there are some important materials for industrial development such as coal in districts: Yen The, Son Dong and Luc Ngan with reserves of over 114 million tons, of which Dong Ri coal mine has reserves of over 100 million tons for industrial development; iron ore 0.5 million tons in Yen The; nearly 100 thousand tons of copper ore in Luc Ngan and Son Dong; over 600 thousand tons of barite ore; potential of clay for bricks and tiles, with 16 mines and mines, total reserves of 360 million m3; sand and gravel of river beds and conglomerate in Hiep Hoa and Luc Nam with a total reserve of over 8 million m3.

Bac Giang province has abundant water resources: surface water, natural hydrological system is distributed relatively evenly. There are 3 big rivers: Song Thuong, Song Cau, Luc Nam River with a total length of 347 km; Cam Son Lake has nearly 3,000 ha. Good quality groundwater is guaranteed for irrigation and domestic use, with a reserve of over 920 thousand m3 / day.
