History
Bac Giang today is a land of 20 settlements ethnic groups, including the Kinh, Tay, Nung, Hoa, Dao, San Chi, San Diu ... In the history of Vietnam, the era of King Hung, Bac Giang belonged to Vu Ninh tribe of Van Lang country, in the reign of the Dinh (968-980), former Le dynasty (980-1009) Bac Giang belonged to Long Bien district, the Ly - Tran dynasty, it belonged to Bac Giang, Late Le dynasty, it belonged to Kinh Bac, later renamed Kinh Bac district, Bac Ninh town. Under the reign of Minh Mang King (2nd year, 1821), under Thien Phuc, Bac Giang, in 1831, renamed to Bac Ninh province. On 10/10/1895 the Governor General of Indochina signed Decree established Bac Giang province on the basis of two government Da Phuc, Lang Giang detached from Bac Ninh province. On 10/27/1962, Bac Giang, Bac Ninh province merged into Ha Bac province. On 11.06.1996, at the 10th session of the National Assembly IX has approved splitting Ha Bac province, re-established the two provinces of Bac Ninh and Bac Giang. The administrative apparatus of Bac Giang province was officially put into operation on 01/01/1997.
Bac Giang people mainly live on agriculture. Over many generations, they have formed the village, with the form of economic and cultural distinctness. Over thousands years of history, struggle tradition of building and defending the country are stilled preserved and promoted. Martial arts village, wrestling village in Yen The, Hiep Hoa; artisan village in Yen Dung; Van Xuyen village (Hoang Van - Hiep Hoa), because the whole village under the Revolution but also called Do village; Sat village (Lien Son - Tan Yen) is a resistance village.
