The legal aid center of the province of Bac Giang has the functions and tasks of providing free legal aid to the poor and policy beneficiaries and participating in law dissemination and education for these subjects.

The Center's specific legal aid tasks include: counseling, representation and free defense for the poor and policy beneficiaries in cases related to criminal law and criminal proceedings; civilian - family marriage and proceedings; administrative and complaints and denunciations; labor and employment; land, houses and other legal areas related to the rights, legitimate interests and obligations of citizens who are not in the business and trade fields.

Centers are invited by lawyers to represent and defend to protect the legitimate rights and interests of these subjects in case of request of the object or related agencies and organizations; assisting in the cases of poor people, policy beneficiaries who commit less serious offenses or commit serious offenses unintentionally.

Subjects entitled to legal aid:

Free legal aid for the poor including those belonging to hungry and poor households is determined according to the average income per capita per month per month and converted to rice and money according to the standards set by the Ministry of Labor - War Invalids and Society published every year.

Free legal aid for policy beneficiaries includes: People with meritorious services to the revolution (People who were revolutionary before August 1945; Hero Vietnamese mothers, Heroes of the people's armed forces, Heroes labor, war invalids and beneficiaries of policies such as war invalids, diseased soldiers lose 61% or more of their working capacity, wife (or husband), natural parents, people who work for martyrs and martyrs under 18 years of age; people with meritorious services to the revolution).

Ethnic minorities reside in highland, remote, remote and island areas;

Subjects entitled to exemption from court fees as prescribed in Clause 1, Article 13, Points a and b, Clause 1, Article 26; Points a and c, Clause 1, Article 31 of the Government's Decree No. 70 / CP of June 12, 1997 on Court charges and fees.

Persons entitled to free legal aid when requesting assistance must produce certificates of commune, ward or township administrations where they reside or agencies, state enterprises, mass organizations or political organizations. - workplace society (for the poor); present a certificate or card issued or certified by a competent State agency (for policy beneficiaries). In special cases, when the beneficiary of the legal aid has difficulty traveling, he or she may authorize the relative to request assistance.
