At the reception, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Le Thi Thu Hong expressed her pleasure to welcome the delegation of the Secretary of the Party Committee of Nanning city, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region (China). She informed the delegation about the socio-economic development of Bac Giang province in recent years. In 2023, Bac Giang province's economy continued to recover and develop rapidly, setting many new records. GRDP growth rate reached 13.45%, ranking first in the country. GRDP scale was expanded, ranking 12th in the country and leading in the Northern Midlands and Mountains region. Bac Giang focused on synchronous development in all three fields: industry, agriculture and services and aimed for fast, stable and sustainable development.

He said that currently, Bac Giang had 10 industrial zones with investment policies approved by the Prime Minister. 4 industrial zones achieved 100% occupancy rate, 4 industrial zones were building infrastructure. In addition, the province established 55 industrial clusters. Currently, China was the country ranking first in terms of total registered investment capital in Bac Giang with 5.63 billion USD and second in the number of investment projects in the province. Bac Giang was very interested in industrial development, especially the semiconductor industry.

Bac Giang had many conditions to interact with Chinese provinces. Bac Giang's lychees exported up to 60-70% to the Chinese market, being popular with people. The province was striving to complete all the goals set by the 19th Provincial Party Congress for the 2020-2025 term by 2024.

Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Le Thi Thu Hong hoped that Nanning leaders would have a close coordination program between the two sides; support Bac Giang province in trade promotion activities, developing and expanding markets, promoting the province's export of goods to China, especially the province's strong agricultural products.

He said that this delegation's business trip to Vietnam not only included leaders but also many businesses in Nanning.

He congratulated the achievements of Bac Giang province in recent times, especially the development indicators of Bac Giang in recent years being among the top in the country, attracting many foreign businesses to come for investment, including Chinese enterprises. He said Guangxi was a province close to Vietnam, with more than 1,000 km of border, so the two provinces had many conditions for exchange and development.

Nanning was the capital of Guangxi province with a large area of ​​220,000 square kilometers, a population of 8.9 million people, and was the city with the highest economic growth rate in China. Nanning paid special attention to industrial development, every year in September the China-ASEAN fair took place locally. In recent years, Nanning had increased its industrial development, being strongly supported by the Chinese Government, so many industries in Guangxi had close relationships with ASEAN countries.

He added that the delegation's visit to Bac Giang this time aimed to explore cooperation opportunities between businesses of the two sides. Some Chinese businesses wanted to build vocational training facilities for industrial development in Bac Giang.

Regarding the consumption of agricultural products, he hoped that Vietnam's agricultural products would be gathered in Bac Giang, then transported to Nanning and into the Chinese market to reduce transportation costs. At the same time, he hoped that the two sides would continue to strengthen cooperation in agriculture, industry and enhance cooperation in tourism and culture.

To strengthen cooperation between the two sides, he hoped that the two local governments would regularly visit each other.

Next September, in Nanning city, the 21st China-ASEAN Fair would take place, including the organization of the friendship city exchange of the Nanning-Hanoi Economic Corridor. He hoped that the delegation of high-ranking officials from Bac Giang province would come to attend the exchange.
