On the morning of June 12, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Anh Duong inspected the socio-economic development in Luc Ngan district. Accompanying were representatives of leaders of a number of provincial departments, sectors and units.

Reporting at the inspection, Luc Ngan district’s leader said that in the first 6 months of the year, the socio-economic situation of Luc Ngan district continued to maintain positive growth momentum. There were 5/14 main indicators and tasks for socio-economic development having achieved quite good results. Budget revenue was over 133,700 billion VND, reaching 46.88% of the provincial estimate. Industrial production value was over 2,500 billion VND, reaching 51.74% of the plan.

The lychee area ​​ in the whole district was 17,360 hectares with estimated output of about 50,000 tons. As of June 11, 2024, the entire district harvested and sold over 25,000 tons, reaching 50.06% of the plan (over 11,760 tons for exportation, over 13,200 tons for domestic consumption).

However, the implementation of the district's socio-economic development plan still faced many difficulties such as low flowering and fruiting rate of lychee. The real estate market recovered slowly, auctioning land use rights remained difficult. The progress of site clearance, investment preparation and construction of a number of key projects was not guaranteed as planned. Disbursement of public investment capital had not met progress requirements as planned. Security and order, some types of social order crimes, and traffic accidents in the area were potentially complicated.

Here, the district proposed that the province pay attention to accelerating the progress of scientific topics: researching on scientific basis, practicing conservation and sustainable development of aquatic resources of Cam Son Lake watershed protection forest; researching and evaluating land as a scientific basis for planning, converting crop structure, and building key fruit growing areas; researching on carbon storage potential of fruit trees, etc.

Pay attention to investing in renovating and upgrading a number of lakes and dams to accommodate water storage and serve domestic and production water in the area; add budget sources for implementing the new rural program; assign additional teacher staff. Consider early and approve for Chu urban zoning plans. Continue to allocate provincial capital to support the district to accelerate the progress of investment in implementing tasks and projects meeting the criteria and standards of type IV urban areas of Chu urban area and Chu town’s wards, etc.

At the inspection, delegates focused on discussing a number of contents related to difficulties, problems, recommendations and proposals of Luc Ngan district. At the same time, propose solutions to solve and accelerate the progress of implementing goals and tasks. Specifically, the delegates requested the district to pay attention to supporting the completion of documents and timely support for OCOP products; disease prevention for livestock; rabies prevention; arrange resources to overcome weak criteria for urban areas such as roads and clean water.

Pay attention to upgrading administrative reform indicators and preparing conditions to meet urban government needs after the establishment of Chu town. Highly focus on site clearance, disbursement of public investment capital, and handling of outstanding capital construction debt; urban development, including attracting investment to develop large-scale commercial centers; agricultural development associated with ecological and spiritual agriculture; investment in transport infrastructure development. Ensure traffic safety. Manage transport business vehicles, handle traffic safety black spots. Pay attention to vocational and labor training. Accelerate disbursement of capital for National Target programs, etc.

Concluding the inspection, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Anh Duong praised and acknowledged the efforts and initiative of the Party Committee and authorities of Luc Ngan district in implementing socio-economic development tasks in the first 6 months of 2024.

In the coming time, he requested the Party Committee and authorities of Luc Ngan district to focus on implementing measures to stabilize the people's life, stabilize the production situation of businesses, stabilize the organizational apparatus, maintain security and order in the area. Strengthen state management in some areas being still limited and weak.

Focus on disbursement of public investment capital and National Target program capital sources. Accelerate site clearance progress, pay attention to budget collection, as well as solve the problem of public debt in capital construction investment.

With the situation of reduced lychee output, he requested relevant sectors to coordinate with Luc Ngan district to research, evaluate, clarify the causes, orient and support people to continue to care for and develop sustainable fruit tree areas. Build a number of sustainable household economic models not depending on one tree, thereby ensuring long-term livelihoods for people in the area.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also requested that the provincial departments and sectors continue to pay attention and support Luc Ngan district in carrying out socio-economic development tasks. Regarding the recommendations and proposals of the district, he assigned functional sectors to research and advise the Provincial People's Committee on solutions.
